Tanzania's Minister of Minerals, Anthony Mavunde, directed the Mining Commission to revoke 40 mineral exploration licenses on April 15, 2026, due to persistent non-compliance and a failure to develop the sites. This enforcement of the "use it or lose it" policy aims to eliminate "license hoarding" and ensure the country's mineral wealth actively contributes to the economy.

Namibia has confirmed that Starlink, owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, must adhere to local regulations requiring 51% ownership by Namibians to operate in the country. The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) rejected Starlink's initial application due to it being fully foreign-owned, emphasizing that this requirement ensures local economic participation and regulatory control.

CHAKRAS AND IZITHUNYWA ZIKAMENZI

This cosmic science that our chakra system mirrors the African mystery science of Izithunywa zikaMenzi. - When we overlay these two systems, we see that "science" has always been universal—it is the study of the Light Body.

Protecting the aura was a daily "Divine Science." We understood that uMoya (breath/spirit) isn't just inside you; it radiates around you.
Spiritual Smudging (Imphepho) was used to "clear the air" or the aura of stagnant frequencies.
White Beads/Copper: Worn to stabilize the energetic field and conduct the "Celestial Frequencies" properly.

In the scope of our ancient history, the "Aura" was often understood as the Shield of the Spirit. It is the electromagnetic field generated by the "spinning wheels" (Chakras) of these celestial messengers within us.

1. Root (uNomkhubulwane): The grounding wire. If this "soil" is unstable, the rest of the tree cannot grow. This is where we anchor our Ancestral DNA.

2. Sacral (Unomhoyi): The messenger of flow. Just as the Sacral governs creativity, Unomhoyi (Venus) governs the magnetic attraction that brings "new life" into being.

3. Solar Plexus (Usodumo): The "Thunder" in the gut. This is your Will. When Usodumo is aligned, you have the courage of a warrior to protect your boundaries.

4. Heart (uMvelinqangi): The "First Emergence." In many traditions, the heart is the Sun of the body—the seat of restoration where masculine and feminine meet.

5. Throat (uSomandla/Nommo): The Power of the Word. This is the "Expansive" messenger. To speak is to create; it is the frequency of divine authority.

6. Third Eye (uMah): The "Cool Fire" of the Moon. This center provides the Intuition and "Dream-sight" needed to navigate the unseen world.

7. Crown (uMlenze-munye): The "One-Legged" connection to the Sky. It is the antenna that stands firm, connecting the human structure directly to the Source/Great Architect.

When these centers are misaligned, we aren't just "unhappy"—we are "out of orbit." We stop vibrating with the rhythm of the universe and start vibrating with the "noise" of the world.

In this episode of The Mandela Rhodes Foundation Podcast host and MRF CEO Judy Sikuza sits down for an honest conversation with Nigerian philosopher and post-humanist thinker, Dr Bayo Akomolafe.

Bayo challenges the modern obsession with "fixing" everything. He suggests that our greatest treasures aren't found on the smooth, paved roads of progress but in the "cracks" and "potholes" where life actually happens.

Durban-born Nompumelelo Zikalala is steering Kumba Iron Ore Limited, a $6.4 billion Johannesburg-based mining producer, through a period of strong financial performance and impactful social initiatives.

Zikalala’s career spans over two decades, beginning unexpectedly in a KwaZulu-Natal classroom when a De Beers visit sparked her interest in engineering.

She earned a chemical engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and joined De Beers in 2001, advancing through operational and commercial roles to become deputy CEO of De Beers Consolidated Mines in 2017.

Since assuming the role of CEO at Kumba in 2022, Zikalala has overseen robust results: adjusted EBITDA rose 14 percent to R31.9 billion ($1.95 billion), margins expanded to 46 percent, and revenue reached R70.1 billion ($4.3 billion).

Kumba also delivered R58 billion ($3.54 billion) in economic contributions to South Africa, supporting local communities and suppliers. Beyond finance, Zikalala chairs Sishen Iron Ore Company, mentors young professionals, and promotes inclusion in mining.
