meet our featured artist, david kuijers. 🖌️

born in vanderbijlpark in 1962 to dutch immigrant parents, he took the best painter award at pretoria's school of art, music and ballet at eighteen, did his time as a sign writer, then graduated top of his class in illustration at cape technikon.

david has been a full-time painter since 1999. he works in acrylic, on canvas and on glass, and in steel, and he gives his animals titles like not my monkey and crocodile tears.

that's his bee, it's called "bee nice", and his work is still up at agterplaas and will be on the night.

agterplaas will be one stop of many. stokvel gallery does "ziggy stardust to blackstar", a tribute to david bowie, a group of textile artists exhibiting. at 27 Boxes and so much more to be announced soon.

the tour ticket gets you a limited spot, complimentary drinks, priority access, shuttles between stops, and this month a light meal.
