The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, is urging communities to remain vigilant after a 55-year-old woman was allegedly robbed of a large amount of stokvel money during a house robbery in Nkowankowa Location on Saturday, 06 December 2025.

The incident occurred at about 04:43 when the victim was returning indoors after fetching water. She was overpowered by two unknown suspects, one pointed a firearm and demanded money.
The suspects forced her into the bedroom, where they took a plastic bag containing cash in stokvel savings, and her cellphone. The woman was pushed to the floor and sustained injuries. The suspects fled the scene on foot. No shots were fired.

Lieutenant General Hadebe strongly condemned the incident and once again reminded communities not to keep large sums of cash at home, especially during the festive season when stokvel-related robberies rise sharply.

All relevant stakeholders attended the scene, and investigations are underway.

LATE APPLICATIONS FOR GRADE 1 & GRADE 8 |

The Online Admissions Application System will be open for Late Applications to Grade 1 & Grade 8 from 17 December 2025.

Late Applications will be for parents & guardians with Incomplete Applications and those who did not apply online for Grade 1 & Grade 8 during the application period.

During the Late Application window period, only schools with available space will be open.

Parents & guardians will be able to select ONE school from the list of available schools. The learner will then be placed as final at the selected school

Parents who select a school during the Late Application period have no option to decline the placement and no objections or appeals can be submitted.
