That’s the problem—and the opportunity—we’re solving at VentureBooks OS, Africa’s first IP and storytelling operating system, built under Startup Picnic Venture Studio.
We’re reimagining the future of book publishing, storytelling, and creative IP on the continent — and we’re assembling a pioneering team to help build this operating system from the ground up.
We’re Looking to Meet: Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX Designers, Cloud / DevOps Engineers, NLP / AI Specialis, (Bonus) Anyone with interest or experience in book publishing, media, creative IP, or content ecosystems

WHO WE ARE
After 12+ years in publishing (through Bula Buka Publishers), we discovered thousands of high-traction manuscripts across the continent. These stories resonate — but they lack scalable infrastructure, capital, and technology.
That led to one big question: How do we publish 10,000–50,000 authentic African books in 5–7 years — quickly, affordably, and intelligently?
VentureBooks OS is our answer.
We’re building:
- A manuscript acquisition engine
- AI-powered publishing workflows
- BookTech infrastructure
- A marketplace for authors, publishers, and bookstores
- A platform that turns African stories into digital assets for books, film, games, and beyond
