It’s been a different kind of couple of weeks at home.
Having to say goodbye to my Staffie, Tyson, was bloody hard, and I think it just made me appreciate the little world around me even more.
So last weekend I decided to make a potjie for my little family at home, and when I say family, I mean all of them. My stepkids, my animals, the whole crazy household. 😂
There’s Lychee the axolotl, Honey the ferret, and then the dogs we have left; Rhodey, Bella and Luna. Every one of my dogs has always been a rescue, and of course there’s my little koi pond with some seriously cool-looking koi in it.
I’ve always been a massive animal lover. I love cars, bikes, speed, noise and pretty much anything fast, but animals and kids have always been a huge part of who I am too. I suppose that explains the slightly exotic household. 😂
I’ve been asked a few times about where I live, what my place looks like, and a bit more about the life behind everything else you normally see from me.
The truth is, I worked bloody hard for this little piece of land and this life that I get to share with my Kylie..
I came from next to nothing, so I never take any of it for granted. It might not be a mansion (I mean, it’s pretty big and awesome 😏 but not a mansion 😂) or somebody else’s idea of success, but every bit of it means something to me because I know what it took to get here.
The kids, the animals, the bikes, the braais, the potjies, the noise, the chaos and the quiet moments in between… this is home.
So here’s just a little look at what I have, where I am, who I am… and probably a bit of why I am the way I am.
And for all of it, I’m incredibly grateful, and stepping into a new light and Radio family at Jacaranda just makes my future make a little more sense again... ❤️
