International Day of Education 24 January 2025

Education is a universally recognized human right. It is a public good and responsibility. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the 24th of January (of each year) as International Day of Education. The purpose is to highlight the importance of education as a key to a more peaceful and developmental world.

The main theme for 2025 is: "Artificial Intelligence and Education-Preserving Human Agency In A World of Automation." As a global community, we must reflect on the progress of technology and innovation over the last few decades, and how that has impacted (both negatively and positively) our lives and communities.

Our children need to be future-fit and prepared to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities associated with technological advancements such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, etc.

Job Description:
Ninavanhu- Ma Education Solutions Pty (Ltd) is looking to employ a highly motivated Grade 8 SeSotho Tutor.
NB: The tutor is required to travel to the student’s home to conduct high-quality private tutorials with them.
Requirements:
* At least 1 year tutoring experience and/or Teaching at Grade 8-10 level;
* Excellent subject-knowledge
* Achieved 70% and above in matric in SeSotho;
* Qualification:
• 4-year Degree B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): Specializing in SeSotho;
• Certification from the South African Council for Educators
(SACE);
• BA degree other than a B.Ed. will require a 1-year Post-
graduate Certification of Education (PGCE) specializing in
SeSotho ;
* Good communication skills and be a team player;
* Fluency in English and SeSotho for effective communication;
* Tutor must be passionate, committed and enthusiastic about
the growth and development of their students;
* Be willing to travel and work in a multi-cultural setting;
* Embrace and understand Ninavanhu-Ma’s values and mission.

While the Money Smart Week South Africa 2023 might be over, the lessons learned (and memories created) are still with us. The video shows Musa (one of the 3 speakers) telling the audience about his entrepreneurial journey, which began in high school (Grade 10).

He encouraged the audience, especially the young to be entrepreneurial in their outlook and be open to new opportunities, and ways of thinking. Education and entrepreneurship go "hand-in-hand".

We would like to extend a hand of gratitude and appreciation to Money Smart Week South Africa, and their affiliate partners for making a possibility.

It was a week filled with educational programs aimed at enlightening the South African citizenry about the mechanics of money. The overarching goal of the campaign was to bring awareness to the call to "Plan your money, and plant your future".
