Calls for repatriation of looted cultural property have to be a bit louder. A Zimbabwe bird figurine unearthed in the Great Enclosure was taken as personal property by Cecil John Rhodes . It is in what used be his bedroom in his Groote Schuur Estate Capetown. Definitely one of historical artifacts that have to be returned, as the bird remains in South Africa to date .

ESigodini town, formerly known as Essexvale, was founded in 1895 in Umzingwane district. Initially developed as an estate belonging to British hunter Frederick Selous, the town also served as a service station for CH Zeederberg's coach wagons traveling to and from Bulawayo to the south, owing to its exceptional grazing lands where spare mules and horses were kept. Notable landmarks included the Essexvale hotel, Zeederberg filling station, Anglican St. Mary's church, and Why Not hotel.
