ZAMBIA REIGNS SUPREME AT CAF AFRICAN SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP

Zambia's Under-15 Boys and Girls National Teams have made history by winning the CAF African Schools Championship | COSAFA Qualifiers, booking their spots at the continental showpiece.

The Girls' team, led by a 17th-minute strike from Matildah Hambulo, defeated defending champions South Africa 1-0 in the first final at Idas Valley Sports Complex in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

The Boys' team came from behind to beat South Africa 2-1, with Michael Chilinda and Maxen Msimuko scoring the crucial goals.

These victories earn Zambia a USD 100,000 cheque to support development programs and a chance to represent COSAFA at the CAF Schools Championship.

Former Zambia Midfield stalwart Nathan Sinkala has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for the PSL side Stellenbosch FC after an impressive 2021 season .
Sinkala joined Stellenbosch FC in January 2020 as a free agent from TP Mazembe. He made over 50 appearances for the Johann Rupert backrolled club before leaving in mid 2022.

Nathan has expressed his gratitude towards the Stellies.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has denied reports that former Chipolopolo Coach Avram Grant was paid to end his contract.

According to FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande, the separation was mutual and did not involve any severance payment. The reported figure of US$277,222.99 was part of the outstanding amount owed to Grant, not a separation package.
