✨ At Transcend, we’re proud to celebrate women who shape transformation through consistent dedication and impact.

One such woman is Unathi, our Learning & Development Project Manager. For over six years, she has been the steady hand and guiding force behind our Learnership programmes—ensuring that learners don’t just enter opportunities, but succeed in them.

Her work spans the full spectrum of learner support:

✔️Comprehensive screening and recruitment
✔️Hosting solutions tailored to learner and business needs
✔️SETA liaison and compliance
✔️Ensuring reasonable accommodation for Persons with Disabilities

Through this commitment, Unathi has supported hundreds of learners in building their confidence, skills, and resilience needed to thrive in workplaces across South Africa.

This Women’s Month, we also want to recognise the role of our partner, Learning Organisation, in amplifying this impact. Together, Unathi and TLO have ensured that every learnership not only equips candidates with accredited qualifications but also gives them the real-world tools to succeed and transform their futures.

Unathi, your unwavering commitment and leadership are a true embodiment of this year’s theme: Building Resilient Economies for All. We see you. We celebrate you.

QCTO Transition: Are Your Skills Development Plans Ready?

South Africa’s shift from SETA-accredited legacy qualifications to the QCTO framework is more than a policy change — it’s a complete re-shaping of the skills development landscape.

With enrolment deadlines extended to 30 June 2026 for many legacy programmes, and uncertainty still surrounding the readiness of new QCTO qualifications, businesses have a narrow but critical window to make informed decisions.

At Transcend, we’re helping organisations navigate this transition with strategies that:

✔️Maximise your Skills Development and B-BBEE scorecard points now
✔️Ensure continuity in training pipelines during the changeover
✔️Align your programmes to market-relevant, accredited qualifications

This is the time to be proactive. The choices you make today will shape your talent pipeline for years to come.

2025 Women’s Month: It’s time to do more than celebrate — it’s time to transform the system.

Despite making up nearly half of South Africa’s workforce, women still face massive barriers when it comes to entrepreneurship, funding, and supply chain access:

✔️Only 21% of formal SMMEs are majority women-owned

This Women’s Month, we honour the women who are Building Resilient Economies for All— one bold step at a time.

At Transcend, we’re privileged to work alongside women who don’t just talk transformation — they live it.

One such woman is Elsie Masemola, our Senior Consultant and the dynamic lead behind Transcend’s YES Programme work. With a deep commitment to youth empowerment and economic inclusion, Elsie has spent years helping our clients use the YES initiative not just to improve their B-BBEE scorecards, but to change real lives.

This Women’s Month, we proudly celebrate her — not only for her professional milestones, but for everything she represents - juggling the everyday realities and complexities of being a woman in South Africa — while driving systemic change that empowers others. Her journey reflects the resilience, leadership, and capability that women bring to every space they occupy.

We are proud to celebrate a few of her recent milestones:

▪️Elsie was recently invited to speak on a Bloemfontein radio station for a Youth Day segment, sharing insights on the impact of YES and youth development.

▪️She’s also been shortlisted for the YES4Youth Top 35 Under 35 — a recognition of her tireless work and authentic leadership in the space.

Elsie, your passion, impact, and quiet strength embody the very spirit of this year’s theme: Building Resilient Economies for All. We see you. We celebrate you.

Transformation through B-BBEE has opened doors for growth and leadership, and women like Elsie are walking through them with purpose.

Let’s build more tables like this.

This year, the African Union marks 2025 as the Year of Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations—a powerful call to confront historical injustice and build a more equitable future.

At Transcend, we see Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) as part of this journey. As one of South Africa’s tools for reparative justice , B-BBEE connects directly to the 'social impact' aspect of ESG. It’s not just about compliance—it’s about driving real change and facilitating sustainable empowerment towards a more equitable future.

We’re proud to stand with the continent and the diaspora in honouring our shared heritage and progress. Let’s keep pushing for transformation that’s meaningful, inclusive, and lasting.

🚨 EE SECTORAL TARGETS HAVE BEEN GAZETTED 🚨

The Department of Labour has officially gazetted Employment Equity Sectoral Targets—effective 15 April 2025. This is a game-changer for designated employers across South Africa.

🔎Here's what you need to know:

- The targets are final—no changes since the Feb 2025 consultations
- Designated employers must align to 5-year EE plans (Sept 2025 – Aug 2030)
- A Compliance Certificate is now required to do business with the State
- Non-designated employers are still accountable for fair labour practices

💡Not sure what this means for your business? That’s where we come in.

At Transcend, we help companies:

✅ Understand the new EE regulations
✅ Build compliant 5-year EE plans
✅ Conduct EE compliance audits to prepare for reporting

📞 Don’t wait until the last minute. Let’s get your organisation EE-ready.
