Junior HR/IR Officer
Job Requirements:
• Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures
• Advise on general HR issues
• Recruitment, selection and placement (client and internal)
• Qualification checks and verification through MIE background screening
• Creation and implementation of various HR procedures and documentation
• Maintaining and assisting with skills development
• Handling of employees queries
• Book trainings as required by site and by trade (medicals, inductions, competencies, assessments, W@H & confined spaces, Legal Liability, HIRA and incident investigations)
• Data capturing and progress reporting (liaise directly with clients)
• Ensure correct site and legal requirements are met (Exemptions, Tax certification & Letter of good standing)
• Assisting with IOD and COIDA processes in case of an incident
• Control and track staff and site leave
• Evaluate and screen timesheets
• Handling of daily employee grievance and disputes
• Advise on labour relations issues
• Arranging and participating in disciplinary hearings (Chairman or charger function)
• CCMA, MEIBC Conciliation and Arbitrational cases
• Liaise with Legal advisor
• Dealing with conflict and ensuring proper communication within the workforce
• Forecasting and avoidance of stability issues
• Ensuring compliance with client agreements
• Creation of IR Reports (monthly and shutdown reports)
• Responsible for Termination planning
• Liaise with local forms, and department of labour
• Industrial action control and prediction
• Provide Disciplinary and Grievance guidance
• Policy and documentation compliance
• Manage Ad Hoc HR tasks
• Policy and documentation compliance
• Manage Administration
• Ex*****on of the recruitment process
• The control of resource mobilization and de-mobilization
• Ensuring all training are fulfilled in due process
• Creation of site files
• Employee queries resolve
• Sourcing and placement of Site based and Corporate employees
• Advertising of positions required
• CV screening
• Liaise with client on recruitment requirements
• Booking and participation in the interview process
• Liaising with potential candidates and reference checking
• Control of recruitment social media, portals, radio station and other interactions
• Data capturing and capturing of recruitment databases
• Marketing and seeking new clients
Education & experience Requirements:
• HR/IR Diploma or relevant qualifications
• 3 Years practical IR experience
• CCMA and Bargaining Council experience
• A clear criminal record
• Driver’s license and own transport
• Must be willing to travel within South Africa
Working Hours:
07:00 – 17:00 (Mon – Fri)
A willingness to work overtime, incl. Saturdays, when required
