We're looking for a Junior Video Editor
Department: Post Production
General Description: We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Video Editor to join our Creative Media Production team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about Scandal!, video editing and storytelling to contribute to our dynamic production and help shape engaging visual content. An assistant editor is responsible for providing both administrative and linguistic support to the editors.
Responsibilities:
Including, but not limited to:
1. Edit and compile a weekly promo, sending to Audio and packaging the promo for delivery.
2. Consolidating of Episodes in batches of 20 and keeping track of work done correctly.
3. Completing promos for special events when needed.
4. Compiling scenes for actors when needed.
5. Compiling the endcredits for each episode.
6. Liasing with the Producer when Promos are ready to view.
7. Liasing with the HOD when promos are ready.
8. Packaging and finalising the promo for delivery.
9. Constantly communicating with the Post Production Manager of work being done and completed.
10. Assist Editors with assembling episodes from time to time.
11. Assisting with Subtitling of scenes when needed.
12. Stand-in to view with the Producer when the Editor of a specific episode is unable to do so.
Requirements:
1. Experience in Film Production in soapies
2. Proven experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
3. A strong portfolio showcasing editing skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
4. Solid understanding of video production processes, including shooting, editing, and post-production workflows.
5. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, communicate ideas clearly, and adapt to feedback and changes.
6. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Passion for storytelling and visual storytelling techniques, with a keen eye for aesthetics and composition.
8. Ability to work under pressure.
9. An online portfolio for viewing.
10. A keen eye for detail.

12. A Matric Certificate
13. A valid driver’s license
14. 3 years Avid experience.
Location: Sasani Studios, Johannesburg. You must be based in Johannesburg.
