Applications for SAMRO's 2026 Music Creation Support Fund (MCSF) are now open. Consistent with the previous cycle, a total of R3 million in funding has been allocated this year to support 120 qualifying Full and Associate Members, with each recipient eligible for a grant of up to R25,000.

The Music Creation Support Fund (MCSF) is a flagship Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme established by SAMRO in 2021 to provide financial support to its members for new compositions and for the completion of EPs, albums, videos, or music scores.

Applications are now open and will close on 31 October 2025. Applicants must not have received any SAMRO CSI support in the past 3 years.

All eligible Full and Associate Members are advised to check their emails for further information and application instructions.

I'll speak about the rappers who always told us how ghetto house music was.
This is why African rap is dying a very horrible death. They want to be American so bad. They don't understand why Amapiano is taking over the globe. It's because it's as versatile as house music and afro pop. While rapping is limited to swearing at women especially baby mama's.
You'll ask a rapper why you don't have a feature in your songs and realise that women don't want to be associated with being sworn at. Especially when featuring.
All rappers know to talk about is how hard they can f**k bi***es. They don't read so their vocabulary is very limited to f**k, bi***es, drugs and alcohol. Nobody wants to hear such for long.
You'll soon expire as a genre. Globally rap is slowly dying because now most rappers are coming out as bisexuals and the majority of the men who used to love rap are confused about where to from now because being part of the LGBTQ community is looked down upon by their own gender.

Allegedly corruption is being exposed in every industry. Including the creative industry.
All the owed and stolen inheritance are returning to the right people. Many structures are falling because they were being held up by dishonesty, people who worked through manipulation and lies.
