Narconon Provides Parents with New Tools to Protect Youth from Ma*****na Abuse
Posted on January 13, 2014 by Bobby WigginsThese days, protecting your children from using ma*****na is harder than ever. After all, twenty states plus the District of Columbia have now made the use of ma*****na in a medical setting legal. As seen in headlines recently, two more states – Colorado and Washington – have legalized the recreational use of the drug. How can a parent make it clear to children that their use of the drug can be harmful?“It comes down to education,” said Bobby Wiggins, drug education specialist for Narconon International. “Parents may need to learn more about the drugs their children may encounter so they know how to explain the dangers. Today’s ma*****na is not the same as the w**d of twenty or thirty years ago and today’s youth will be offered more types of drugs than any generation before them. Narconon helps parents keep up with the changes by providing easy-to-read information on every drug their child is likely to be offered.”Wiggins referred to a new feature on the Narconon International website, What You Can Do about Ma*****na Abuse. This new feature, available for reading online or as a downloadable PDF. This document provides a concerned parent with all the up-to-date information they need to educate their children. Also included are step-by-step recommendations on how to approach this subject with one’s children.“There is so much conflicting information in the media these days that youth are sure to be confused about the value of staying sober,” said Wiggins. “Our free gift to parents everywhere it this complete package of information on ma*****na and the guidance on how to use to protect one’s children.”Points covered by What You Can Do about Ma*****na Abuse include:• Is ma*****na addictive?• If it is, how many people are addicted to w**d?• How can you tell if a child is using ma*****na?• What problems are associated with ma*****na use?• What is the best way to talk to a young person about the effects of consuming ma*****na?• Is today’s w**d really stronger than the ma*****na of a decade or two ago?• Are there physical problems associated with ma*****na abuse? What You Can Do About Ma*****na Abuse is available online or as a downloadable PDF on the Narconon International website. About Bobby Wiggins
From being a drug addict in the Northeast, Bobby Wiggins not only recovered his sobriety, he also built himself a new life dedicated to helping others recover. Bobby found his new sobriety in 1977 at the Narconon drug rehab center located in New England . Knowing he needed to give back to the program that saved his life, he stayed on as a staff member. A few years down the road, Bobby began using his experience to explain the dangers of drug abuse to schoolchildren in the area. A few more years and this would be Bobby's full time occupation - a job that would last for the next few decades. Between 1984 and 2001, Bobby gave presentations at schools from one end of New England to the other. He went on to take on the job of Director of Drug Education International at the world headquarters of Narconon, located in Los Angeles. Along the way, he has personally lectured to more than 900,000 school children at ages ranging from 7 to 18, plus delivered more than 200 workshops at universities around the world. He has given seminars and trained Human Resources staff from more than 500 corporations. Requests for his seminars have taken him across the US and around the world, including locations as diverse as Mexico, Canada, England, Scotland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Sweden and Venezuela. In the Philippines, he trained the national Drug Enforcement Agency how to do effective drug education in schools. In a cooperative project with the Friends of Narconon in Los Angeles, Bobby created a video series for schools' drug education programs, so he could reach many more children with accurate information. These presentations have been seen by another eleven million children. From his radio and television appearances, he has reached another 600 million with the truth about drugs.
