Coming out of Tottenham, North London, the singer-songwriter has been carving his own lane through a smooth fusion of R&B, UK rap and Afroswing influences, pairing soulful vocals and infectious melodies with the unmistakable character of where he comes from.

Nippa actually started out rapping before finding the confidence to lean fully into singing — developing a sound shaped by everything from the music he heard growing up to his experiences in Tottenham. Records like “Situation” helped introduce that sound, while projects including Not A Statistic and Hope She Hears This have continued to show his progression as both a vocalist and songwriter. Zimbabwean-British singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri is continuing to redefine what a rising indie-pop star can look and sound like. ✨
