Blackweather Productions CC., is an independent film production company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was founded in 2011 by University of Witwatersrand graduate, Xolelwa ‘Ollie’ Nhlabatsi. Nhlabatsi's work experience stems from working for brands such as the BBC, BET, Channel O and NBCUniversal. Striving to create once off, distinctive pieces that will endure above and beyond your competitors.

Did you know that James Earl Jones became the voice of Darth Vader because George Lucas wanted a deeper, more powerful voice for the iconic villain? James Earl Jones, who sadly passed away this week, gave Darth Vader his unforgettable voice, while David Prowse, the actor who portrayed him on screen, also left us a few years ago.

Rest in peace to these two legends whose performances shaped one of cinema’s greatest characters.

🌟 The Blackweather logo is more than just a symbol; it represents the personal journey of our Founder & Creative Director, Xolelwa Ollie Nhlabatsi.

As a Leo, born on July 31st, and having grown up on Libhubesi Street (which means Lion) in Swaziland, the lion has been a constant and powerful presence in Xolelwa's life.

🦁 His love for Greek mythology, especially the twin gods Apollo and Artemis, inspired the clouds in our logo. Apollo’s role in bringing the sun resonated deeply with Xolelwa, leading to the creation of Blackweather as a mythological force.

In our logo, the lion is envisioned as a being that brings the rain, creating a raucous atmosphere to empower your story. 🌧️✨
