SABC (Official) The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is the country’s only public service broadcaster.

The SABC was established on 01 August 1936, by an Act of Parliament. The Corporation is the only Public Broadcaster in South Africa. The SABC is made up of 18 radio stations, which cater for the country’s 11 official languages, including the iXun and Khwe, and 3 television channels. The SABC, in the new Millennium, has continued with its vision and mission to serve out its mandate as a public service broadcaster. Major changes in the sector such as the digitization of broadcasting and rapid convergence of the telecommunications; internet and broadcasting platforms have made the broadcaster to review its own business model.
