Atlantic Record Bar was one of the main spots for music in Johannesburg CBD. Located only few doors down from jazz giants Kohinoor, Atlantic was able to keep it's doors open by selling music and equipment well into the 90s, later focusing mainly on electronics and househols items at the end of the decade. Though they no longer cared about selling music, tapes lay on the shelves and there was a box of records on the floor. After months of waiting we were lucky enough to get the remaining Lp's in 2015 after years of them sitting in storage. Vusi from got his hands on the rest of the 45s a few months later. The next year we bought all the tapes before they closed their doors in December. A few of the records found we were lucky enough to reissue thanks to the copies found from their stock. It's hard to find an 80s record collection that doesn't have at least one record with their red or green stricker. Along with kohinoor and Jazzbo it was one of those record shops that everyone had visited at least once. Somehow a few old plastic bags survived the years and transformed into shirts because the design was too beautiful. Available online by Friday or send us a DM!
