A SCHOOLGIRL BULLIED AT A SCHOOL IN SHARPEVILLE

A schoolgirl from a school in Sharpeville has reportedly been bullied in a disturbing incident that left her with a badly bruised eye.

According to the information received, the girl was allegedly dragged down and assaulted before falling onto the tiled floor. She was left with visible injuries, including significant swelling and bruising around one eye.

The incident has raised concerns about bullying and the safety of learners in schools. Bullying is a serious issue that can have lasting physical and emotional effects on children.

Schools have a responsibility to ensure that learners are protected and that reports of bullying are taken seriously. Parents and guardians are also encouraged to speak to children about bullying and create a safe environment where they feel comfortable reporting incidents.

Children should not have to attend school in fear of being bullied, threatened or physically harmed.

Bullying is not acceptable. It needs to be reported, addressed and stopped.

The family of Thobikile Dube, 11, from Fine Town confirms she has been found and is safe.

STATEMENT FROM HER FATHER:

"She came back now around one. She says she was scared to come home because it was late. My mother who is her grandmother is with police. She must show police where she was."

Thobikile, who went missing on Tuesday around 13:00, returned home today. She is now with her grandmother and SAPS to provide information on where she was.

The Dube family thanks the community, SAPS, and all who shared her missing flyer. They request that the public please *delete the old missing poster* with her photo and the number 062 157 2689 to protect her as a minor.

The matter is now in the hands of SAPS for further handling.

DRUG BUST | R211,160 WORTH OF DRUGS SEIZED

A 25-year-old woman is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 10 September 2026, following her arrest for alleged dealing in and possession of drugs valued at more than R200,000.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, 9 September, during an intelligence-driven operation by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit, Polokwane Detectives and the Public Order Policing Unit.

Police received information about a woman allegedly involved in the sale of illicit drugs in Ntsima Village, Sebayeng, outside Mankweng.

Members spotted the suspect driving a white Mercedes-Benz and stopped the vehicle before proceeding to her residence. With the necessary permission obtained, police searched the vehicle and premises.

A black shopping bag found at the residence allegedly contained a substantial quantity of suspected illicit drugs, including he**in, crystal methamphetamine and CAT.

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of R211,160.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Sebayeng SAPS.
