In the early mornings of June 12 residents of the zola community found their substation erupting with polluting smoke as it was evident that their substation that provided power to neighbouring communities like Dobsnville, Emdeni, Naledi etc and also provided power to the local mall (Jabulani) was on fire after 3 explosions went off to ultimately resulted in the unexpected slow destruction of the substation which caused frustrations and defeat amongst communities affected.
