Topic: How Art, Music, and Storytelling Can Heal Trauma and Depression for People with Disabilities

This week on The Arts, Culture & Recreation Show, we explore how creativity can be a form of therapy. Art, music, and storytelling are more than just expressions β€” they are powerful tools that help people, especially those living with disabilities, to heal, grow, and connect with others.

🎨 Art opens the door for self-expression, helping people process trauma and find beauty in their journey.
🎢 Music has the power to calm the mind, lift the spirit, and remind us that we’re never alone in our struggles.
πŸ“– Storytelling gives people a voice β€” a chance to share their truth, inspire others, and reclaim their power.

Through creativity, inclusion, and community, healing becomes possible. Because everyone deserves the chance to express, to feel, and to heal.

πŸ’¬ Questions to think about:

1. How can creative spaces be made more accessible for people with disabilities?

2. Have you ever used art, music, or writing to express your emotions?

3. What role does community play in the healing process through the arts?

🎧 Tune in and join Hloni-Walker and Sasa as they uncover how art can turn pain into purpose and silence into song.

πŸŽ™οΈ In His Presence with Royalty.

Topic: Mental Health in Christ

The Bible may not mention β€œmental health” directly, but it tells stories of men who faced emotional struggles β€” David, Elijah, Job, and even Judas. These men battled fear, depression, and despair, showing that mental pain is not a lack of faith but part of the human experience.

God’s Word reminds us:

> β€œThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” β€” Psalm 34:18

God cares deeply for our mental and emotional wellbeing. He calls us to renew our minds, lean on Him, and support one another in love.

Let’s talk about how society often silences men’s struggles and how we, as believers, can respond with compassion and understanding.

Questions for you:

Should men be free to show emotion and weakness?

Do you know a man who’s gone through a tough time or even taken his own life?

The EEE Show with Mr Tap πŸŽ“

Topic: The Importance of Finishing Your Matric

Finishing your matric is one of the most important milestones in your educational journey. It opens doors to higher learning, employment opportunities, and personal growth. Whether you plan to study further, start a career, or build your own business, having your matric certificate gives you the foundation to take that next step with confidence.

However, we understand that the matric year can be challenging β€” from heavy workloads to exam stress, and even accessibility barriers for learners with disabilities. That’s why it’s important to develop effective study methods, manage stress in healthy ways, and make use of accessible learning platforms that support every learner’s success.

πŸ“š Let’s Talk About It:

What are some study methods that have worked best for you during exam season?

How do you manage stress and stay motivated when the pressure gets high?

Are there enough disability-accessible learning platforms and resources in your community?

Join Mr Tap on The EEE Show as we unpack why finishing your matric matters, and explore the different ways learners can be supported to reach the finish line β€” no matter their circumstances.
