TIA Productions

TIA Productions Productions company TIA is a small, boutique-style production company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are always hands-on and dedicated to the project.

After working as a producer and director in the industry for 10 years, most notably as the senior producer at MTV Africa, Tarryn started TIA Productions in 2012 in order to make films she really believed in. Our goal is to create international quality documentary films, as well as short and long-form TV productions. But, no matter what it is we’re working on, our focus is always on powerful storytelling supported by beautiful visuals. We work with a loyal network of exceptionally talented film professionals, who are passionate about the work we produce. It allows us to put together the perfect team for each and every job we work on.

I am both totally terrified and so dam proud to say UNDELIVERED is on preorder!
I can’t believe we are here House

When Penguin Random House said yes to this book, I thought it would be the easy part, after a very long investigation. Oh man, was I wrong! This was the hardest thing I have done in my professional life. The hours were longer than I ever imagined, and lonelier. Pages and pages of interview transcripts, court material, and medical reports. I had to pull it all apart and then try to stitch it back together in a way that honoured every character’s narrative. And somehow find my voice. I am blushing right now, thinking that all those words I spent writing mostly in the dark are soon to be out there for ya’ll to judge.

So much of this book was written on the deck of my parents’ house in St Francis Bay this past summer. My dad was declining fast from MSA, and I needed to spend as much time with him as possible. He would cruise past in his wheelchair and check on me with a thumbs up. Or sit quietly beside me, watching the love birds. Yo, he was struggling.

Then he died. And somehow I still had to finish writing. What I didn’t realise at the time was that grief was changing me. It stripped away all the noise. It made me understand, in a small way, what so many of these mothers had been carrying for years. Not the loss of a child – nothing compares to that – but the experience of waking up each day with a heartbreak you cannot fix.
This book became much more personal than I ever intended it to be. It is an investigation. It is a search for truth and accountability. But it is also a story about love, loss, resilience and ordinary people who refused to stop fighting when every system around them seemed to want them to give up..
Today, Undelivered is officially available for preorder.

Dad, this one’s for you.
And to the moms, thank you for trusting me to tell your story.

For six years, I followed a story that began with one mother’s question: What really happened to my baby?
That question led to one of the most significant birth malpractice cases in South African history.

never said no to another story. The show helped these moms fight for justice and stay in the spotlight.

NOW THE BOOK IS COMING OUT IN JULY.

UNDELIVERED is the whole story under one cover.
In 2024, Yolande Maritz-Fouchee became the first midwife in South Africa to face criminal charges, including culpable homicide. The case was driven by a group of mothers who refused to accept the explanations they were given after their babies were injured or died at Yolande’s private birthing home, You & Me.

As more women came forward, a disturbing pattern emerged. Their determination led to a Carte Blanche investigation that exposed allegations of medical abuse, births conducted outside the scope of practice, the use of medication without informed consent, missed warning signs, and failures to transfer mothers and babies to the hospital when they were in danger.

Undelivered is the story of those mothers. A story of loss, resilience, and the fight for accountability.

Through interviews with both the victims and Yolande herself, court transcripts, and expert testimony, this book takes readers inside a case that changed South African. Thank you.

To all the moms, this is so no one forgets your baby’s name. Elsa Swart, Noah’s Story, Nicci Kruger, Aliki Doula Loggenberga, Madelein Roux, Chiedza Murecha, and so many more.

Sometimes you finish a story and you just like Why? Why can’t people do the right thing? How many stories on grooming in sports do we have to tell, before the people inside the federations start listening? And JUST BELEIVE THE VICTIMS. this Sunday
