MAN IN COURT FOR KILLING HIS WIFE

The Limpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale has called for the courts not to grant bail to perpetrators of Gender Based Violence as they continue to violate the rights of women and children.
MEC Rakgoale was speaking outside the Malamulele Magistrate's Court, where a 63-year old man was making his formal bail application. Daniel Maswanganyi has been charged with murder after allegedly killing his wife, Tsakani Maswanganyi, last week at Mbhalati village.

Police say the victim was shot several times after an argument ensued between the pair at their home. The MEC was in court to give support to the family of the victim and also to add her voice in calling for the court not to grant bail to the suspect, as the country is grappling with Gender Based Violence dubbed the second pandemic to the Coronavirus.

*COURT UP-DATE OF SEVEN SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR THE BRUTAL KILLING OF FOUR PEOPLE DURING A MOB ATTACK INCIDENT*

POLOKWANE : The seven(07) suspects arrested at Masisi, have appeared before the Musina Magistrate Court in connection with the brutal murder of four(04) men during the mob attack incident which occurred at Mutele village on the 01 February 2021 at about 20:00.

Six(06) of the suspects were each granted R2000.00 bail and one suspect, Christopher Makhesha aged 38 was remanded in custody until 22 February 2021 for formal bail application and for further police investigations.

The six(06) suspects who are facing 04 counts of murder, arson and malicious damage to property are as follows:

* Thuso Sithakha aged 30.
* Masala Mudzanani aged 28.
* Asaph Mapukule aged 26.
* Khodani Nelumoni aged 28
* Phathutshedzo Mukoma aged 20
* Ronald Baloyi aged 42

Their arrest came after the community members accused the four(04) deceased of being involved in the disappearance of Gumani Makhesha aged 25 who was reported missing on the 25 January 2021 after he allegedly visited relatives in the Makuya policing area. The missing person file was opened at Makuya police station and police are still continuing with the search operation and investigations.

Subsequent to that, community members mobilised and later went to the homestead of the local traditional healer where they torched his house and two motor vehicles, accusing him of being responsible for the disappearance of Gumani. They then took the traditional healer, his son and two other persons and forcefully dragged them to the bushes where they stoned and burned them beyond recognition.

ATTORNEY KILLED!!


The Police in Lebowakgomo outside Polokwane, Limpopo, have launched a manhunt for the unknown assailants who shot and killed a 58 year old man last night, 12 February, at about 19:00.
The incident allegedly took place at Zone R in Lebowakgomo.

It is alleged that the deceased, who is an attorney, was moving towards the gate talking on his cellphone when unknown suspects approached, shot him several times killing him instantly before they fled from the scene.

According to the police, the neighbours were alarmed by gunshots and rushed the to the scene. The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood.

The Police and medical emergency personnel were summoned and upon arrival, he was certified dead on the scene.

Police opened a case of murder and commenced with investigations and manhunt for the suspects.

"The motive behind this incident is still unknown at this stage but the ongoing Police investigations will tell," said the Limpopo provincial police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

Ngoepe said the deceased has been identified as Moleko Ratau, who is an attorney by profession.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the incident with the most strongest terms and instructed that the suspects be tracked down and brought to book so that they come and face full might of the law.

*POLICE LAUNCH SEARCH OPERATION TO LOCATE A MISSING TEENAGER*

MOKWAKWAILA- The police in Mokwakwaila outside Tzaneen in the Mopani District have launched a search operation for a missing girl, Khensani Chabalala aged 15 from Ga-Matipane village following her disappearance on Wednesday, 10 February 2021.

Her mother alleges she sent her to collect books for her sibling at Senakwe Primary school and since then, she never returned home.

She was wearing a blue jean skirt, light pink t-shirt with flowers, red cap with red and black Adidas sandals at the time of her disappearance.

Police search operation was conducted in and around the area with no success.

Anyone with information that can assist in locating the missing person should contact Detective Warrant Officer Nakampe Rabothata on 060 996 0062 or Sergeant Tinyiko Manganye on 079 890 6570 or Crime stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.

Police search operations and investigations are still continuing.
