Idols SA Season 19 Bought You The Live Show As Their Top 12 Rock The Stage
The ladies performed duets with high-profile past contestants and winners for a killer show
The Greater and Major Kick Off by Idols SA Season 19 is nothing that have been Expected as their Top Six Ladies Made it to the top 12 set, performing at the MosaĂŻek Teatro in Johannesburg in front of a spirited 2 500-strong audience.
With their fate now entirely in viewersâ hands, the performers sang their hearts out for precious votes by teaming up with former Idols SA winners and finalists, before going at it alone.
The Fresh and Interesting start up is being made By Lungile who was Featuring one of the winners of Idols SA on Season 14, whom Her solo performance was a rendition of Lloyiso and Langa Mavusoâs Inhliziyo.
Thembi Seete called Lungileâs performance âa powerful way to start the showâ, while Somizi Mhlongo stated that: âYou were quite nervous in your first song, but your second one redeemed you to the core. Now I am going to remember you.â
Next up was Niikiey, who teamed up with season 11âs Mmatema to sing Mmatemaâs Make a Way, before taking on Zonkeâs Inhliziyo solo. All judges were unanimous in praise for the 18-year-old.
JR Bogopa stated that both performances were âoutstandingâ, continuing: âYour second performance showed variation. Your range is incredible.â About Niikieyâs solo showing, Thembi said: âYou can play around with that voice. Do not be scared â relax and enjoy yourself.â
"The third contestant to take the stage was Neve, who partnered with season 13 winner Paxton for Judy Garlandâs Somewhere Over the Rainbow, while her solo song was Madison Ryann Wardâs Mirror.
Neve received a mixed bag of comments from the judges, with Somizi telling that: âYou need to be honest with yourself â if the key feels uncomfortable, say so. Your lower range is not that strong. You tend to be swallowed up when you go low.â
Thembi, on the other hand, praised Neve.
