Bad times is always the best time to expose who really cares

On this day, we lost a great revolutionary and artist. Tupac Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas. To this day, we still don’t know who murdered him. We do know thousands of pages of his FBI file remain classified.

While he was alive, he was routinely criticized for the “negative” influence of his music. He responded by telling his critics the reason they hated his music was because he was telling them about the reality of poverty, racism and drug use. He pointed out the hypocrisy of his haters by noting they were all millionaires. They didn’t know the pain many felt all over the country.

Outside of music, Tupac was an organizer who used his celebrity to bring street gangs together and transform them into organizations to lift people out of despair. For this, he was marked for surveillance by the FBI. Just like his mother, a former Black Panther, was also targeted.

We don’t know what Tupac would have done had he survived. We do know his music continues to touch the lives of millions all over the world.

When people try to devalue, humble, insult, or purposely fracture your sense of character they’re just simply projecting. There’s something about you they don’t have or you trigger them in ways they don’t even understand. A lot of times people hate the rawness of others because they’re not even being themselves, they’re masking for society. I had to learn the behavior people project towards me really has nothing to do with me, it’s them and their inability to face themselves, especially when you’ve done nothing to them.
