Patriotic Alliance Hosts Food Drive in Ward 3

The Patriotic Alliance Party organised a food drive in Ward 3 ,Homevale, aimed at supporting community members facing financial hardship, many of whom are unemployed and rely on social grants for their livelihoods.

The event was opened with a prayer, followed by speeches from the PA ward 3 councillor candidate and local party leaders, who addressed community members and highlighted the importance of supporting vulnerable households.

Following the proceedings, community members were served plates of food as part of the party’s initiative to provide immediate assistance to those in need.

"The food drive forms part of efforts to support residents experiencing economic challenges and bring assistance directly to families in need in our ward." said Mr Kevin Andrews, the PA ward 3 councillor candidate.

"We provide support in terms of SMME procurement funding, giving interest free loans to the SMMEs with a purchase order from us, including training and access to market."- Mr. Fumanekile Makuyekwe, Regional Manager for Enterprise and Supplier Development at the South African National Parks.

This is as they concluded a five day training on costing and tendering which was held at Horseshoe Inn in Kimberley from 17 till 21 August.

*⚠️ ALERT: REFUSE NON-COLLECTION IN RITCHIE AND KIMBERLEY'S SQUAREHILL PARK AND HOMESTEAD*

Regrettably, the municipality hereby informs residents that refuse collection will not take place in Ritchie today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday), and today in Kimberley's Squarehill Park and Homestead.

• Reason: This is due to the breakdown of two compactor trucks, which are currently in the workshop for repairs.

📍 ADVISORY: Residents are kindly advised to withdraw their refuse bins to avoid littering and scattering of waste by animals.

Further information on an alternative collection day this week will be communicated in due course.

We extend our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused.
