Dulcie September (1935–1988) was a fearless South African anti-apartheid activist and ANC leader who fought against racial segregation and injustice. Arrested in the 1970s for her activism, she later went into exile and became the ANC’s Chief Representative in France, Switzerland, and Luxembourg, exposing apartheid’s illegal arms trade and lobbying for sanctions. On 29 March 1988, she was assassinated in Paris—shot five times outside ANC offices. Her murder remains unsolved, with suspicions linking it to her investigations into South Africa’s arms dealings and nuclear program. Her voice still echoes in the fight for justice.
