December in South Africa brings a natural pause. And honestly, we needed it.

Since arriving, we’ve been running hard — building relationships, serving, learning, showing up wherever we’re invited - and its been so exciting and such an answer to prayers but this slower season has been a reminder that sustainable ministry requires rest.

We’re grateful for a rhythm that allows us to breathe, refuel, and prepare our hearts for what’s ahead.

What an honor it was to be part of Beautiful Gate’s 31st Annual Celebration this past weekend! 🎉
This organization has spent over three decades serving vulnerable children and families — and seeing firsthand how far they’ve come was so inspiring.
Zach spent the day at the first aid tent while Kirsty-Rhe captured moments behind the camera, and together we got to witness a celebration of faithfulness, community, and impact.
Here’s to many more years of lives changed and families strengthened through the work of Beautiful Gate. 💛

Calling academy

Let me just start off by saying wow! This ministry has impacted us in ways we never anticipated.

Calling Academy is an all boys high school (the Stellenbosch campus) providing top quality education to learners from low income communities - doing it all with a Christian foundation and ethos.

We had the opportunity to be apart of a serve day through our church where we went to the campus and cleaned the classrooms while intentionally praying over the students and staff that are there during the week. I loved how practical and impactful this day was.

We then also participated in a prayer week at the school where we had time to sit and pray with some of the students as well as the teachers. To hear 14 and 16 year old boys seeking prayer for boldness to keep sharing the gospel with their friends and family and for strength to keep living for the Lord and not the world was so encouraging and showed us just how impactful this ministry is.

This past weekend Zach went to a youth camp put on by our church for the boys of this school! 124 boys showed up to go and God was on the move during this time! They saw 3 salvations and so many gospel conversations throughout the weekend - so please join us in prayer for the seeds that were planted to grow and lead to more salvations.

Zach was able to witness first hand the spiritual work that God is doing in some of these boys lives and was even able to see a 15 year old guy in his small group preaching the gospel to his friends during one of their discussions. You could hear how much he cared for his friends through his words and how much he was trully seaking to place himself within the will of God to be faithful and obedient to the calling God placed on his heart. He left the camp thankful, encouraged, and with a renewed sense of awe for God and His love for us.

We have learned so much over the past 2 months working with Beautiful Gate. The passion their team has is so inspiring and its been so great getting to know the staff and programs.

This weekend we had the awesome opportunity to connect with a local ministry in Somerset West called East Mountain - they work to disciple Christian leaders for global missional service.

It was such an incredible and encouraging afternoon fellowshiping with their team and spending time in worship and prayer. There is something so beautiful about worshiping with people from all over.

Cant believe we have been here for 3 months now! God has been so good and gracious to us every step of the way and it has been so exciting seeing all the doors He has opened for us.
