God's Word Translation defines love as:
1. deep affection (Judg.16:4 ; 2 Sam. 13:4)
2. compassion, commitment, or devotion (Matt 5:44 ; Rom. 13:10; 1 John 3:11-23; 1 John 4:16)
God's love for us is so great that he gave his only Son to die on the cross for our sins (John 3:16)
Of the New Testament writings. John is most closely associated with the theme of love. John uses the verb love 87 times.
In John 13:34-35, Jesus commands His disciples to love one another.
Did you notice that The Fruit of the Spirit is singular, not plural?
The reason for this is that there is only one fruit of the Spirit, and that is (agapē). The other characteristics are all describing what this kind of (agapē) love produces in our lives.
If we don't have love, we won't have joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control.
Love is more than a feeling. Love is who our God is. Love is a verb and necessitates action. Love is the result of truly attributing worth to someone. This is why perfect love can only be found in our Creator, and this is also why the Holy Spirit is the one to produce such love in us.
I pray that the Spirit would help you today to walk in bold love.
