March against Gender Base Violence in CBD
The UThukela District Municipality informs the community of Alfred Duma Local Municipality that there is a burst pipe in Helpmakaar Road opposite Intando. A technical team is currently on site.
The following areas will thus be affected by water interruptions:
- Dunlop factory
- St Chad's
- Area J
- Steadville
- Shayamoya and
- Tsakane

There is a secondary pipe burst closer to the Helpmekaar intersection.
Update: A crash took place this morning (April 4) on the N11 when a bus heading towards town from the Limit Hill direction lost control and veered off the road. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained by passengers.
Al Imdaad tankers are distributing water. UThukela have confirmed they have once again begun pumping water from the eZakheni plant, but it will take many hours, possibly only by tomorrow for water to start filtering through the system.

Al-Imdaad Foundation and K9 Search and Rescue Unit continues its 3rd day of the search in the Sahlumbe area of the Alfred Duma local municipality after a 12 year old boy had drowned in the Tugela River.
SAPS S&R Pietermaritzburg are due to join the search later today.

Body of 17-Year-Old Swept Away by Klipriver Found
After days of searching, the body of a 17-year-old boy swept away by the Klipriver in Umbulwane on March 25 was found on April 1. The SAPS Airwing and K9 Search and Rescue teams assisted in the discovery.
Today, April 1, 2025, the Irish Guards honored their 125-year legacy with a poignant ceremony at the Siege Museum in Ladysmith, South Africa. The event featured an Evensong and wreath-laying, culminating in a stirring rendition of God Save the King.
