🎬 APPLICATION CALL: YOUNG BOYS WANTED FOR FILM & HEALING Program.

Location: Guga S’thebe Arts & Culture Centre, Langa
Dates: October School Holidays

Are you a young boy aged 13–17 living in Cape Town with a passion for storytelling, creativity or simply looking for something meaningful to do during the school holidays? Artivism Productions is inviting 30 boys to join our free 10-day Film & Healing Program where you’ll be introduced to:

🎥 Filmmaking & Storytelling
🧠 Mental Wellness & Healing Workshops
🤝 Teamwork, Confidence Building & Mentorship
🌍 A safe space to express your truth and be heard

Program Requirements:

✔️ You must be a young male aged 13 to 17
✔️ You must live in Langa or surrounding townships in Cape Town
✔️ Be committed to attend all 10 days of the program
✔️ Must have parental/guardian consent
✔️ Be open to learning, sharing and growing in a team environment
✔️ No previous film experience needed — just passion and curiosity!

What You’ll Gain:

Learn how to write, shoot, and edit your own short film

Daily meals and support from local mentors.

A safe space to heal, reflect and dream

A certificate of participation and a screening of your final work!

Introducing our new Treasurer and Board Member, Nkosiyethu Godlimpi!

Nkosiyethu is a Landscape Architecture student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and a dedicated member of Artivism Productions. With his experience in student governance and community activism, he brings a unique perspective and skillset to our team.

As Treasurer, Nkosiyethu will oversee our financial management and ensure transparency and accountability. As a Board Member, he will contribute to our strategic direction and decision-making.

After months of meticulous preparation, submission and review, we are overjoyed to confirm that Artivism Productions has successfully navigated the registration process and has been officially recognised as a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) in South Africa with registration number NPO 320-641. This milestone is a direct result of the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of our team and we are thrilled to have reached this pivotal point in our organisational journey. Our registration as an NPO empowers us to further our mission of harnessing the transformative power of art to drive social change and we look forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals and organisations to amplify our impact. Yesterday we successfully launched Entilongweni Gathering 2025 in collaboration with . The event was filled with powerful Poetry performances that moved and inspired the audiences, our guest poet, collaborator and brother also made flames, appreciated man. The event was opened by a screening of Mandela 1996 by which sparked meaningful conversations about our nation’s history and future. We were honored to have renowned activist Mr. Lengz lead an engaging discussion and presentation sharing his insights and experiences with the audience.

We’re grateful to Iziko Museums of South Africa for opening their doors to this engaging collaboration. Their support has been instrumental in bringing Entilongweni Gathering to life. As we look to the future, our goal is to take Entilongweni to every school in the city providing a platform for young people to engage with social issues, art and activism. We believe that by empowering the next generation, we can build a more just and compassionate society.
