Shocking and Unacceptable Aggression at Pick n Pay Fountains Mall - 11th July 2025

I am deeply alarmed and disgusted by what I witnessed yesterday around midday at Pick n Pay Fountains Mall in Jeffrey's. A young female employee was simply trying to do her job when she was violently targeted by an Afrikaans-speaking white male customer.

This man was aggressive beyond belief—his rage was uncontrollable. He shouted at her in a vicious, hostile manner, using offensive language and treating her with utter disrespect. The hostility was palpable and terrifying. The man's aggressive demeanor almost seemed like he was ready to physically assault her, and his words carried an ominous threat.

What I saw was not just rudeness, but a display of dangerous hostility that could cause severe emotional trauma to the young lady. Being subjected to such violence and hostility can lead to lasting psychological scars—trauma, anxiety, fear, and a loss of sense of safety—and it’s unacceptable in any setting.

This kind of behavior must be condemned in the strongest terms. The store management needs to take decisive action to prevent such dangerous incidents, so staff can work without the fear of assault or verbal abuse. We cannot allow violence and aggression like this to become normalized.

Everyone deserves respect and dignity—anyone subjected to such brutality deserves justice and support.
