The Executive Mayor, Cllr Khumalo Molefe will be introducing a service provider contracted to dispose the decomposed fishes from Tontonyane Dam in Mahikeng.

The Community of Mahikeng would recall a fish mortality incident that happened towards the end of July at the Tontonyane Dam. Therefore, as we await the result of the study by professionals from Department of Economic Development, Conservation, Environment and Tourism who are currently studying the cause, Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality has committed to clean the surrounding areas of the dam.

This activity will give job opportunities to 20 unemployed community members.

MEC MOLAPISI SADDENED BY UNTIMELY PASSING OF MR DIKAGO P**E

MEC of Public Works and Roads, Gaoage Oageng Molapisi expressed deepest sadness over a fatal car accident that claimed life of Mr Dikago P**e who served in the Office of the Honourable MEC.

On Monday,24 July 2023 the MEC visited the P**e family at Khunwana Village accompanied by members of Provincial Executive Committee of the
ANC , Regional Executive Committee and collegues from the Department . Mr P**e was recently elected as the Treasurer of the ANCYL in Ngaka Modiri Molema Region.

Mr P**e started his employment in the Office of the MEC beginning of February as an Administrative Assistant. His role involved project oversight and stakeholder engagements.

MEC maintains “Dikago brought into my team unparalleled energy and an ability to resolve possible conflicts arising from communities during implementation of roads related projects”

The MEC has since conveyed his deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr P**e ; and wished a speedy recovery to those injured on behalf of the Department.

“I am saddened by his untimely departure because I had plans to assist in his personal growth and development . More importantly I had taken a deliberate posture of investing in his leadership role in society” said Molapisi
