As we celebrate the conclusion of Women's Month, let's commemorate it with the campaign film against woman abuse. The recent escalation of violence against women in Venda demands our unified opposition to gender violence.

Ingoma

Ngoma means many things in VhaVenda. It symbolises peace, humanity, harmony and a sense of belonging.

Nobody curved those drums like the late Samson Mudzunga ....our producer Dowelani Edward Nenzhelele was one of the fortune ones to have captured his beautiful story while he was still alive

His work was unique as his drums are totally unique and different from the others in his culture as he adds traditional Venda fabric to his drums, and makes his drums in the shapes of large, hollow fish and aeroplanes.

He also performs the ‘funeral ritual’ and ‘rebirth or resurrection’, using ngoma,” he tells.

His home used to be a hub of artists, art fanatics and curious people who visited him and bought some of his creations.
