Coast College Graduation West Coast College celebrated its 25th Graduation Ceremony with two energetic days on 26 & 27 August 2026, honoring students’ achievements and community pride. Top achievers were recognised for outstanding high distinctions, including the highest record of 9 distinctions: Chairperson’s Award went to Johnson Lauren Lee, Public Management (18 months) Principal’s Award went Theusssen Alicia Nicole, Office Administration (3 years)

Keynote speaker Dr Peter Khwezi Nyewe reminded graduates that graduation is not a certificate day, but the start of a new chapter. He urged students to create opportunities, finish what they started, and honor the sacrifices their parents made to get them here. West Coast TVET College continues to build South Africa’s skills pipeline through practical programmes in Engineering, Business Studies, Office Administration, Hospitality & Tourism, Information Technology, Safety in Society, and Workplace Practicals.

Tensions rise in Malmesbury as “Abahambe” movement gains momentum A wave of tension has swept through Malmesbury after the Abahambe movement, calling for foreigners to leave the area, the message began on the 20 August 2026.

Today, 21 August 2026, a large community march including school kids moved through the township knocking door by door under heavy public attention. (The Chairperson Mr. Nzongana) addressed residents before the march at 09:30, stressing that it must remain peaceful. He stated clearly that “should looting occur, my hands are clean,” a message captured on record as authorities monitor the situation closely. Community leaders and observers continue urging calm while tensions remain high across the West Coast region.
