Castel Beers Under Fire: Malawians Blast Company for Deteriorating Standards

Malawians have taken to social media to express anger and disappointment over the deteriorating quality of Castel Malawi’s beer brands.

Many consumers claim the beers have lost their original taste and strength, accusing the company of neglecting quality while focusing on packaging changes for its spirits.

Castel has its popular spirits — Malawi Gin, Malawi Vodka, and Premier Brandy — now available in 330ml bottles, a move that has done little to calm frustrations over the company’s core beer products.

“The beer tastes flat and weak. It’s no longer the Carlsberg we used to enjoy,” one Facebook user complained, with others urging Castel to fix its beer instead of making cosmetic changes elsewhere.

The growing backlash highlights deep dissatisfaction among customers, many of whom are demanding that Castel return to its roots and prioritize beer quality over rebranding efforts.

HONOURABLE KHULEYA LIGHTS CHIKWAWA BLUE AGAIN.

(Sunday, 7th July 2024)

Mkumaniza Ground in Ngabu, Chikwawa was a centre of attraction as people of all walks of life had to endure long walk and a scorching Sun to witness a glueling football encounter in the Ben Khuleya Football Bonanza finals.

This was a second bonanza in the year to be sponsored by the youthful politician who is Chikwawa Mkombedzi parliamentary aspirant for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Addressing a jubilant mammoth crowd that gathered, Hon. Ben Khuleya who is also Deputy National Treasurer General for the party thanked people in the district for rallying behind Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the DPP. Hon. Khuleya assured the people not to dispair saying APM as the party's torchbearer will steer DPP to victory next year.

Then, he asked people in the district to register enmass for national ID inorder to cast their votes at next year's tripartite elections.

Winners and runners up of the bonanza went away with a trophy, cash prizes, and individual medals.

FORENSIC AUDIT AT TO***CO COMMISION IMPLICATES MCP OFFICIALS , AUDITOR GENERAL TOLD NOT TO REALEASE IT

Forensic Audit for financial year of 2022 to 2023 at To***co Control Commission , is revealing serious abuse of office and resources , with Malawi Congress Party officials , Ministers and crocodile eyed public servants being the main culprits.Malawi cameras can reveal .

The three ministers who are implicated in the audit report are frustrating the office of the Auditor General , undermining the efforts to release the report , and issuing threats to some people who have come across it.

All this is happening under the watch of idle board at the commission which has been paid handsomely in allowances to look the other way .

On the sad note , the toothless Anti Corruption Bureau being headed by another MCP boy Hirary Chilomba cannot do anything .

As that is not enough , another mercenary Malawi Congress Party plant in the Parliamentary Public Accounts committee can’t act despite his office being aware of the plunder and the audit report at TCC.
