Thembisile Hani Local Municipality has noted with concern the continuous procurement scams that occur when the Municipality advertises tenders.

In the recent scam that has come to our attention, fraudsters are falsely claiming that they are members of the Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC), and ask prospective service providers for money in exchange for favourable consideration for the construction of Boekenhouthoek (Mohlamonyane) Bus Road tender.

JUST IN | Mayibuye Protest

It has been reported that there was a protest action in the Mayibuye area(Tembisa), which turned ugly as police used rubber bullets to disperse protesters.

The protest took place on Modderfontein road in Mayibuye, the road was barricaded with stones and burning tyres, since early hours on Monday 30th June 2025.

This action is believed to have been initiated by the community members as they are complaining about Electricity Outage in the area.
