CITY OF MBOMBELA GEARS UP FOR SERVICE DELIVERY DRIVE

Mayor Reaffirms Commitment to Residents

By Groova News Reporter

The City of Mbombela has renewed its commitment to improving service delivery across the municipality, with Mayor Sibongile Makushe-Mazibuko emphasizing that residents deserve reliable basic services and visible development in their communities.

Speaking on the municipality's ongoing service delivery programmes, the mayor highlighted the importance of fixing aging infrastructure, maintaining roads, improving electricity supply, and ensuring that municipal services reach every ward. She noted that service delivery remains one of the municipality's top priorities as the city works to improve the quality of life for its residents.

"We are determined to build a city that works for everyone," the mayor said, stressing that municipal departments have been instructed to respond swiftly to service-related challenges and community concerns.

The municipality has recently intensified efforts to repair potholes, restore streetlights, maintain public spaces, and address infrastructure backlogs. These interventions form part of a broader strategy aimed at creating a cleaner, safer, and more functional city.

Mayor Makushe-Mazibuko also called on residents to work together with the municipality by reporting service delivery issues and participating in community engagement programmes. According to the mayor, collaboration between citizens and local government is essential for sustainable development.

While challenges remain, the city leadership believes that continued investment in infrastructure and improved municipal efficiency will help accelerate service delivery and stimulate economic growth throughout Mbombela.

As residents continue to demand better services, all eyes will be on the municipality's ability to translate its commitments into tangible results on the ground.
