They helped themselves to a fuel spillage after the tanker overturned at the M7 and N2 interchange.

The government official, who held the position of Acting Head of Department for the Education Department at the time, is allegedly implicated in a R114 million corruption scandal dating back to 2018.

The official currently serves as the Chief Director of Human Resources for the Department of Health in Mpumalanga. This development forms part of a large-scale operation being conducted nationwide today, February 22.

The operation, which includes a takedown in Barberton and other areas, is reported to be targeting 41 individuals suspected of involvement in corruption within the department of education. ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐š๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐›๐ฎ๐ซ๐ , South Africa โ€” Tributes, memories and love for Eyewitness Newsโ€™ politics associate editor, Tshidi Madia, have continued to flow in following her passing.

Madiaโ€™s friends, colleagues and politicians have offered their condolences, while others have shared their memories and praised her as a bold and courageous political journalist.

The 42-year-old passed away in hospital on Wednesday following a short illness, according to an announcement by the news outlet.

As a journalist and political commentator, Madia was a prominent figure on all Primedia Broadcasting radio stations and digital platforms, including the podcast, Politricking with Tshidi Madia.

She hosted various shows, frequently filling in on the Midday Report and the Clement Manyathela Show on 702 radio station, connecting with listeners from all walks of life.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), expressed its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of acclaimed broadcaster and journalist. Meanwhile, Eddie Mfulwane of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) shared his partyโ€™s message of condolence on social media.

While sharing his experience, photojournalist, Jaques Nelles revealed how she helped him choose dresses for his kids and the moments they shared in Guinea, noting that โ€œShe was fair, genuine and full of heart.โ€

Madia also interviewed influential political personalities, such as former president Jacob Zuma, EFF leader Julius Malema and Democratic Alliance federal leader Helen Zille, on the podcast.
