A 71-year-old South African man and a woman went missing after failing to return to their lodge late Wednesday, and their lifeless bodies were subsequently found in a river by tourists.

According to police, the man had sustained stab wounds, while the womanโ€™s body showed signs of bruising.

This incident marks the first time in the reserveโ€™s hundred-year history that visitors have been killed, according to authorities in the wildlife park.

๐’๐ค๐ฎ๐ค๐ฎ๐ณ๐š, South Africaโ€” The Skukuza Regional Court in Mpumalanga has sentenced Sifiso Mbuyane, a 44-year-old man, to an effective 28 years in prison for rhino poaching offences committed in the Kruger National Park.

Mbuyane was found guilty of multiple charges, including the killing of two rhinos, possession of a firearm and ammunition, and conspiracy to commit an offence.

He was apprehended by wildlife rangers in the act of dehorning a rhino after hearing gunshots during patrols in the Pretoriuskop section of the wildlife park.

Furthermore, he was found in possession of a second horn, and DNA and ballistic evidence linked him directly to the crimes.

According to police reports, the teenager had attempted to terminate her pregnancy using traditional medicine on last Saturday before giving birth.

The matter came to light when the girl and her mother sought medical assistance at Humulani Clinic, leading health workers at the clinic to alert authorities.
