SUNDAY INSPIRATION ✝️

“I prayed to the Lord and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4)

Fear is one of the tactics that the enemy uses to bind people from living free in the grace of God. Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger or harm, irrespective whether the threat is real or imagined.

There is a fear that is instinctive which can be considered “good” as it gives you the survival instincts you need to keep yourself from danger or harms way. However, it can be unhealthy when it makes you more overly cautious which may prevent you from doing the things you love and enjoy. Unhealthy fear stops you from living your life to its fullest, it keeps you from pursuing your dreams.

There is an interesting account recorded in Numbers 13:31-33, where we read about the twelve scouts who went to explore the land of Canaan. After exploring the land for forty days the men returned with this report “we entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country - a land flowing with milk and honey. But the people living there are giants, they are more powerful than us”.

At this point two men (Caleb and Joshua) said “let us go at once to take the land, we can certainly conquer it. However, the other ten scouts spread a bad report out of fear and discouraged the people.

This is exactly what fear does, it causes you to feel small, incapable, and powerless to do anything. When you feed on your fears you are breathing life to them and that which you fear will ultimately come to pass. Remember Jobs words, “What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come true!” (Job 3:25). This statement from Job tells us that he was most probably meditating on his fears. Perhaps the fear of losing his wealth and riches, his health and family, his position and status. Nothing good ever comes out of fear.

David showed us how to deal with these fears, He said “I prayed to the Lord and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34.) I encourage you, make this your daily prayer.

God can deliver you when you put your faith in Him. Faith is the antidote for fear, our faith in God can eliminate fears from your life. Perhaps you might have your own fears like Job. Bring those fears to God and ask Him to deliver you from those fears.

Don’t allow them to grow and hinder your life, don’t allow fear to rob you of the “promised land” that God has for you.

God Bless.

MIDVAAL MAYOR CONTINUES WITH NO NONSENSE CLAMP DOWN ON LAWLESSNESS IN DE DEUR AND WALKERVILLE

📃Media statement.

Following several requests from community members, Midvaal Local Municipality led by Midvaal Mayor Peter Teixeira conducted a joint operation in the De Deur and Walkerville areas to address lawlessness and ensure compliance with applicable laws and by-laws.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the South African Police Service (SAPS), the Department of Home Affairs’ Immigration Unit, Traffic Services, the Fire Department, as well as Health and Building Inspectors.

During the operation, a total of 49 individuals, 14 vehicles, and two premises were searched.

SAPS arrested four foreign nationals without valid documentation, one individual for the sale of illicit ci******es, and two individuals for aiding, employing, and harbouring persons without valid documentation.

A mini roadblock was conducted to assess vehicle roadworthiness and driver compliance.

Several offences were identified, including unroadworthy vehicles and the use of cell phones while driving. The necessary fines were issued.

Compliance inspections were conducted at 11 spaza shops, resulting in four non-compliance warnings being issued and two shops being closed.

Several establishments were also found to be operating without valid Certificates of Acceptability (COAs). Inspectors found expired food products and shops operating in unhygienic conditions.

The municipality will continue to conduct joint operations in collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Midvaal Local Municipality remains committed to enforcing the law and protecting the safety and well-being of its residents.
