Zimdancehall artist Romeo Anthony, popularly known as Shinsoman, has been fined US$200 after admitting to smoking cannabis, following his conviction at the Mbare Magistrates’ Court.
Anthony (37) appeared in court with Themba Sibanda (26), Tendai Shumba (43), Kennedy Simbanegavi (37) and Cosmas Muzanzi (41). The five pleaded guilty to contravening Section 157(1)(b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, which prohibits possession of dangerous drugs. Magistrate Ranga Jere fined each accused US$200.
The magistrate warned that failure to pay the fine would result in a four-month jail sentence, with three months suspended for five years on condition that they do not commit a similar offence. “If the fine is not paid, the custodial sentence will be enforced,” the court heard.
According to the prosecution, the offence was committed on January 5, 2026, at a house in Highfields. CID Drugs and Narcotics detectives allegedly found the men smoking cannabis near a parked Mercedes-Benz while conducting follow-up investigations in the area.
