INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Never Give Up Productions and Book Dealers, in partnership with the Art Bank of South Africa, the National Museum, and PESP 7, is offering six (6) internship opportunities in the following fields:

Graphic Design × 2

Book Sales and Marketing × 2

Book Editing and Proofreading × 2

Duration: 5 months
Stipend: R 5 700

*Certified Grade 12
*Certified NQF 6 related to the position applying or for equivalent
*Applicant NOT older than 35
*Previous PESP interns are NOT eligible to apply
*Applicants who are currently benefiting from any PESP 6 or 7 project are NOT eligible to apply
*Must NOT be running any formal business
*Able to travel to Shayandima (VUWA Offices) twice or three times a week or when needed
*Applicants outside Thulamela area can apply for remote positions ONLY

A week ago, we had the privilege of celebrating Lutendo Mudzanani and the launch of her third book, and her first novel.

Lutendo has always wanted to tell the story of a domestic worker, largely because she was raised by one. She understands that behind the title of “maid” is a human being , someone with dreams, hopes, fears, and aspirations.

With so much intentionality, research, and imagination, Lutendo has crafted a beautiful story about a young woman who began working as a domestic worker at just 17. Along her journey, she encounters life-changing experiences that could have broken her, but instead, they shape her into a resilient woman.

The Young Maid is more than just a story. It is a reminder that our beginnings do not have to determine our endings. That dreams can still be pursued, goals can still be achieved, and a person's circumstances do not define the heights they can reach.

Sometimes, all it takes is persistence, courage, and the determination to keep going.

To Lutendo, congratulations on this beautiful milestone. 🥂
