Tee Maestro - Somniferous
Out now.
1. Undines & Naiads
This idea formulated a very cinematic universe in my mind. Undines are water (elemental) sprites/beings descendants of Oceanids, whilst Naiads are basically fresh water gods. The songs’ solemn progression tells a story of 2 water deities unknowingly pitted into a war against each other at the expense of falling in love with one charming Sea God: Poseidon! What once was a beautiful love story soon devolves into a devastating, oceanic blood bath. Zeus finally intervenes as he notices his brother Poseidon, too weak to choose a side has let this insanity go on for far too long, at the expense of thousands of rare underwater species. The end
2. Synthients
In a reversed version of the classic phrase "As above, so below" we have a story that transitions from sea to sky. Synthients are known to be the machines that collaborated with humans after an apocalyptic war in space. As the spacey, crystalized pads tingle in the ear, you get an emotion of all is right with the world. Flipside, a usurping bassline comes in the form of an interloper that threatens this spatial accord. What are the Synthients’ nature? And why did they betray their fellow machine to aid the humans?
3. The Pharaoh Methodology
In ancient Egypt, the social structure was divided in two. The Pharaoh and those associated with divinity were at the top; whilst those who served and considered slaves at the bottom. In some instances, humans were elevated to gods. Pharaohs were considered to be Gods in human form and their power was absolute. Herein, Allan Watt's famous teachings are so profoundly coupled with the ideology of Ancient Egypt's esoteric mindset, transforming that once flawed state of mind into something more holistically intuitive. "We seldom realize, for example our most private thoughts and actions are actually not our own. For we think in languages and images which we did not invent but which were given to us by our society".
4. Somniferous
The only constant theme riding throughout this sonic ensemble. The sleep inducing feeling you get from the drone pads and hypnotic soundscape. This 9-minute journey, which is slow in its transformation, narrates a story of lost history. A sense of cosmic unfamiliarity and beckons one's own spiritual awakening through means of subconscious introspection.
5. Descent from Orbit
This outro track sees our galactic conquest come to a slow descent as we reach our re-entry into planet Earth. Through numerous nuances and aesthetics explored in each of the above-mentioned songs, this particular beat sees an outstrip of our trance-like state and finally restore us to our mundane reality. The trip was a heavenly one... But now it's time we dock this spaceship
