A Moment That Changed Everything

I’ll never forget the day my sister-in-law, who was working as a teacher in a rural area, sent me a photo. It was just a casual message—showing me where she was, what her day looked like. But what she said next shook me.

She told me that the girls in her village were struggling just to eat. Many were living with elderly grandmothers who couldn’t afford to support them. Some didn’t even have basic necessities like shoes or blankets.

She didn’t realize it at the time, but her words lit a fire in me.

That day, the dream I’d always had of opening an orphanage for girls became more than just a dream—it became a calling. I started thinking:
How many girls are silently struggling like this? How many are cold this winter? How many go to bed hungry?

That was the moment Reneka Foundation was born—not with fanfare or funding, but with compassion, urgency, and a deep desire to make a difference.

I never met the girls she spoke about. I don’t know their names. But their stories shaped my purpose—and they continue to inspire everything I do. I hope one day I will go with my sister-in-law to visit that village.

Because in rural areas, being born a girl often means being left behind.

📚 Many girls in rural communities walk for hours just to get to school—if they’re lucky enough to attend at all.
🩸 Some miss school every month simply because they don’t have access to pads or basic hygiene.
💔 Others are forced to drop out entirely due to early marriage, poverty, or lack of support.

These girls are smart, strong, and full of potential—but they’re growing up in silence, forgotten by systems that were never designed for them.

At Reneka Foundation, we choose to go where others often don’t.
We choose rural areas because that’s where the need is greatest—and where your support can make the most powerful difference.
