New Artists Should be Releasing Singles, Not Albums. Here’s Why.
While music consumption in 2023 is at an all time high, the level of patience within those consuming it is at an all time low. In an age of instant gratification, it is difficult for any artist to gain and keep the attention of an audience while trying to build their brand. The fact is, putting out singles consistently will get you much further much quicker than coming out with an album or an EP. As a new artist, it’s important to make sure you’re spreading out your musical assets over time and getting the most return possible, while also making sure you aren’t asking too much of potential fans!

Once you have somebody’s attention, you can more easily retain it with the constant stream of new releases, rather than letting people forget about you while you are working album to album. This doesn’t mean you can never make your dream album, this just means that before you do, singles are a lot more efficient when you are building and gaining the trust of an audience.
