World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Last week, Almarita Chetty counselor and Community Health Worker, Sergeant Kay James from SAPS, Jessica Hendricks from Social Services and Linda Brown Community Supporter, spoke to the elderly at BP about building strong support for elders.

BP appreciates the time and effort by these individuals to inform the elderly, the frail and the vulnerable about the support that is available to them.

Content creator personal post…lesson learnt.

While reflecting on the grief from recently losing two beautiful souls so quickly after each other, I realised that as I was navigating through many unsettling emotions during the last 3 weeks, that this loss opened up the grief for my departed brothers who passed on one month apart in 2021. It was intense. Sad. Heartwrenching.

Losing another sibling and 3 days later your late brother’s eldest son who attended his aunt’s memorial, was unexpected and devastating!

And this is the crux of my message…

Yet, despite losing them, I discovered an unexpected onset of gratitude… a strange phenomenon during trying times. I began to cherish the precious moments we shared, the laughter, the lessons and the unconditional love that surpasses any loss.

While their physical presence was gone, I felt comfort and acceptance in my heart and this led to a wakeless kind of grace and gratitude in my sadness. It felt good.

The acceptance of both my pain and the love that remains, brought a surprising peace, which reminded me that even in loss, we are able to cherish the memories of those who have gone before us.

I am at peace, knowing that they are now in a much better place. ❤️

I don’t know the lady in the pic, but I would like to extend this accolade to Jean Adams (former librarian) for all the years that she served our people in the community.

Ons doen weer ‘n beroep op die gemeenskap om hulp aan te bied met die aankope van muur en dakverf vir die huisies hier by BP.

Soos voorheen gesê: Daar is 90 huise op die kompleks plus die siekeboeg en eetsaal.

Verf kan direk by Builders , Mosselbaai aangekoop word.

Maybe you would also like to sign up as a student at the University of Life…

University of life is my highest qualification; a tough course, but I'm in there for life. Great lecturers, teachers, students and venues all over the world!

Note: There are no graduation dates, no certificates, no accolades, but lots of grace, mercy and favour!

I love my course. Disciplines like Love, forgiveness, tolerance, understanding, wisdom and purpose can be challenging, yet rewarding and liberating. Others like procrastination and goalsetting are more manageable and sometimes I just need a little push in the right direction.🌻

It has its ups and downs and sometimes classes are cancelled and lecturers don't show up, but nothing beats the intervention of the Master Coach. He is such a gentleman and I love Him to bits!... My special hunk who gets me to classes on time, despite a flat tyre or any other challenge that prevents me from attending my life classes!
