Siyolise Msindwana:
Today I chose to spend my time with an elderly grandma in our community. I noticed that she was struggling with her daily chores, so I decided to help her.

I started by washing all the dishes. After that, I cleaned the kitchen properly, which we call “ukusinda” in our culture. I made sure that everything was neat and spotless for her.

I also fetched water for her since the taps ran out of water and helped with other small tasks around the house that were difficult for her to do. Some of the work was tiring, but I continued because I wanted to make her comfortable.

The experience taught me the value of respect, hard work, and caring for our elders. Seeing her smile and sit in a clean home made me feel happy, and I realized that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life. Thank you

Morning South Africa 💗 as your finalist of Miss Lumina Spark 🫂 I’ve made a task of helping my elders to dish up for the children in hostel 🫶 assisted by Abenathi Mdudu and Siyolise Msindwana 🎀

I contribute by helping the hostel cooks during meal times. Every day when it’s time to dish up, I make sure I’m there to lend a hand. I help carry the big pots from the kitchen, set out the plates, and organize the serving area so that everything runs smoothly. My goal is to make sure the cooks are not overwhelmed and that the children are served on time.

When dishing up for the children, I pay attention to making sure everyone gets a fair portion. I help serve the food carefully and make sure that each child receives enough to eat. I also assist in keeping the serving area clean and tidy while the children are being served. If any child needs a second helping, I help the cooks to dish it out so that no one is left hungry.

Helping the hostel cooks to dish up has taught me the value of teamwork and responsibility. It feels good to know that I am making a difference in the children’s daily lives by ensuring they get their meals with care and respect. Working with the cooks has also taught me patience and how to serve others with a positive attitude. I am proud to contribute in this way because feeding the children is not just about food, it’s about showing them love and support.

On the last Sunday of August 2026, in honour of Women’s Month, I went to celebrate and appreciate the women of our church.

As a token of my love and gratitude for their strength, grace and dedicated service in the house of God, I gifted them with tea cups.

It was my small gesture to say thank you for all they do, and to remind them that they are valued, honoured and cherished. The joy on their faces was truly heartwarming.

I am not just chasing a crown - I am chasing PURPOSE! I believe a true Lumina Spark AMBASSADOR is a voice for the voiceless, a light in the darkness, and a leader who serves!

In honour of WOMEN’S MONTH,I took action! I embarked on a powerful community drive for the amazing children of SIYAKHANA CHILDREN’S HOME in Mount Frere!

I donated sanitary towels to restore dignity, toiletries like Colgate and roll-on for confidence, and snacks like chips and sweets to bring JOY!

But I didn’t stop there! I rolled up my sleeves! I played games, I laughed, I hugged, I prepared meals in the kitchen, I served food and drinks with love, and I helped with chores like washing clothes. I gave them not just things - I gave them my TIME, my HANDS, and my whole HEART!

Because to me, being a SPARK means you don’t just SHINE - YOU IGNITE OTHERS TO SHINE!

I want to continue inspiring, empowering, and uplifting every child to know they are SEEN, LOVED and CAPABLE!

It is very important to me as Miss Lumina spark to give back to the Community as shown in the video
I participated in community outreach programs volunteer at local events, I strive to be a positive role model by promoting kindness, respect and unity with my community because my aim is to leave a meaningful and lasting impact wherever I go .

Wearing the Lumina spark Title is not only an honor but also a responsibility to lead through service,kindness and excellence everyday, so here I represent a brand that empowers young girls to grow , lead and make difference,
