Emsikazi Mthwalume Tourism Nestled along the picturesque South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, Emsikazi Mountain stands as one of the region’s most captivating natural landmarks.

The mountain is situated between two rivers, is made up of a mixture of sand and some beautiful stones and rocks. It takes the shape of a loaf of bread and is surrounded by lush forest which is home to the Sout

h African Protea flower. The valley and around it is grazing land for cows and other livestock. The top of the mountain is largely flat and has a few caves which were inhabited by people of the Rastafarian movement. Emsikazi mountain is approximately the size of seven sports fields. The shape of this majestic mountain is attractive to the eye from a distance and is enhanced by the smaller mountain to the East which is draped with white rockery.

I was in Samora Machel, Cape Town, and I was quite scared of the area. The level of security was noticeable, with police and private security escorts accompanying refuse collection trucks and ambulances. I had previously heard many stories about this place, which made the experience even more intimidating.
