⚠️ What is Express Kidnapping?
• Unlike ransom kidnappings that can last days or weeks, express kidnappings are short-term abductions.
• Victims are grabbed, forced to withdraw money from ATMs, transfer funds via apps, or hand over valuables.
• They are usually released within hours once criminals have drained everything they can.

📍 Why it’s such a threat in SA
1. Targets anyone – not just the wealthy. Ordinary people on school runs, late-night commutes, or even popping out for groceries.
2. Quick payoff for syndicates – no need for negotiation, safehouses, or ransom demands.
3. Linked to fake cops – gangs often impersonate law enforcement to stop cars. Victims comply, thinking it’s official.
4. Highly underreported – many victims don’t even go public, out of fear or shame.
