Water Woes in Namakgale!!

Residents of Namakgale Ward 5 are protesting against a severe water shortage that has plagued their community for six months.

In a desperate bid to draw attention to their plight, they have blocked the main road near Sir Val Duncan and Namakgale Stadium with burning tires and stones, effectively preventing motorists from passing through.

Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Delegation Visits Victoria Falls to Formalise Twinning Agreement

A high-level delegation from the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality, led by Mayor Cllr Merriam Malatji, is currently in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, to formalize a historic Twinning Agreement with the City of Victoria Falls Municipality.

This meeting represents a significant step toward formalizing a partnership that aims to foster collaboration and mutual growth between the two municipalities.

The delegation includes Speaker Cllr Oliver Mabunda, Chief Whip Cllr Didodo Rapatsa, Chairperson for Planning and Development Cllr Paulina Mailula, and Acting Senior Manager for Planning and Development Mr Modise Mashale.

The Twinning Agreement is expected to unlock opportunities for shared knowledge, cultural exchange, and economic development, benefiting residents and businesses in both Ba-Phalaborwa and Victoria Falls.

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry kicks off this morning at 10h00

President Cyril Ramaphosa established the inquiry after KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's damning claims.

The commission, led by former acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, will probe these allegations.

PHALABORWA UNITED FC APPOINTS TEFU MASHAMAITE AS HEAD COACH

It is officially announced that former Kaizer Chiefs player Tefu Mashamaite has been appointed as the head coach of Phalaborwa United. He will take over as the team heads to the promotional ABC Motsepe Regional League. The chairman welcomed the new coach warmly and strongly believed that with his great experience, he would take the team to a greater level, wishing him a great journey with the club. The ANC is pulling all stops ahead of next year's ellections.

In his address to thousands of ANC councillors who heeded the call to the Councilor's Roll Call, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa gave a stern warning against councillors who don't perform as they should and those who propel corruption that they no longer have room in the councils they serve in.

He emphasised the importance of delivering services to the communities they serve in.

He further encouraged the councillors to study the success of the municipalities led by the opposition party, the DA, citing that there's nothing wrong with competition and learning from those who do it well. This has however left a bitter taste in the mouths of some of the councillors.

ANC intergrity committee chairperson Reverend Frank Chikane, emphasised that there cant be leaking water pipes and blocked sewage running on the streets if there's an ANC branch and an ANC ward councilor in that area.

Local Government Ellections are scheduled to be held in 2026.

Orlando Pirates was founded by Sofasonke Mpanza known as "Magebhula, Mamimzela", the father of Soweto. In 1937 he formed a team named Orlando Boys which was renamed Orlando Pirates in 1939.

He got his name Magebhula umhlaba kamaspala after he led the land invasion for what is now known as Soweto.

He is the one who submitted a proposal of building a stadium in Soweto which today is the Orlando Stadium.
