- Roughing it at Kubu 👌🏼

We wild camped under an explosion of stars, surrounded by silence and salt. This is overlanding at its purest — remote, raw, and soul-stirring.

Fun Facts by Google:
👉🏼“Kubu” means hippopotamus in Setswana, though you won’t find any water here today — just the ghost of an ancient super lake that dried up thousands of years ago.
👉🏼 The island is considered a sacred site by the local Kalanga people, with stone cairns and ruins hinting at spiritual rituals dating back centuries.
👉🏼 Some of the baobabs here are believed to be over 3,000 years old — silent witnesses to a shifting landscape.

We found the perfect camping spot under a majestic baobab tree and enjoyed the breathtaking African sunset. There’s nothing quite like the silence, the wide-open salt pans, and the raw beauty of nature all around us.🙏🏼

Can you guess where we are?

A quick stop to admire the views en route to another Bucket list campsite in Botswana. 😉

At this point we have traveled more than 5000km on this trip with little to none issues on the road. Big shout out to All Terrain Vehicle Centre Hermanus for their ongoing support to ensure our touring vehicle is always performing well. 💪🏼

Another shout out to Novogen for rebuilding this vehicle and getting it back to top condition allowing us to continue our adventures. 🙏🏼

- Facing Giants 🐘

Camping at Elephant Sands in Botswana was real special — no fences, just wild elephants casually passing through our campsite. Front row seats to nature’s greatest show! 👌🏼🇧🇼

Unforgettable moments, close encounters, and that magical silence only broken by crunching footsteps and the splash of a trunk.

Mosi-oa-Tunya - "The Smoke That Thunders" 🇿🇼

We spent the day at one of the Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Waterfalls. This was another bucket list item tricked off the list for us. ✔️

Did you know?
Victoria Falls is neither the widest nor highest waterfall in the world, but it’s the world’s largest sheet of falling water.

It is twice the height of North America’s Niagara Falls, and is only rivalled by Iguazu Falls in South America. It is 108m tall and 1708m wide

Gliding through the Okavango Delta, surrounded by the rhythm of nature. No rush, no noise, just the whisper of the reeds and the warmth of the sun.

This beast is built for adventure 💪🏼

We are really happy with our Land Cruiser and believe we build the ultimate vehicle that suits our needs. However, it's a always-changing project as we upgrade and modify the Cruiser to adapt to our style of Overlanding.

One of our latest upgrades? A set of powerful 9" HELLA Value fit Blade spotlights that completely transform night driving, as well as 4 Black Magic light bars on the roof. These lights offer incredible brightness and durability, making off-road travel safer when the sun goes down. 👌🏼

The HELLA lights are a game-changer, giving us incredible visibility on night drives and remote trails. Paired with the Land Cruiser’s legendary reliability, this setup is ready for anything!

First night at the Nguma Island Lodge campsite in Botswana! 🇧🇼

This campsite is a dream for any overlander, with big open spaces, plenty of shade from the towering trees and the perfect spot to catch glimpses of the sunset as the day fades into evening. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home in nature. 🌳

After setting up camp, we wasted no time getting the fire going. Tonight’s dinner? A mouthwatering ‘staan rib’ next to the flames. Nothing beats the taste of a good braai under the African sky.

The crackling fire, the aroma of grilling meat and the peaceful surroundings all together makes this one of our favorite camping spots on this trip.

Nguma Island campsite! 👌🏼

Arriving at this serene spot, we were greeted by a troop of curious monkeys who kept us entertained as we handled some maintenance on the Land Cruiser. 🛠️

Exploring the wild means being ready for anything, and our setup keeps us organized and prepared for adventures ahead.

Nature, wildlife, and a little bit of elbow grease—what more could you ask for in the heart of the Okavango Delta? 😋

As we journey north along the breathtaking Okavango Delta, moments like these make it all worthwhile. There's nothing better than enjoying a fresh coffee surrounded by nature's beauty.

Sitatunga campsite is alive with the sounds of birds and the rustle of leaves in the morning breeze. Traveling through this pristine wilderness reminds us to slow down and take in the magic of Africa. 💪🏼🇧🇼
